About:
Left 4 Dead puts four human playable or AI controlled survivors of an apocalyptic pandemic against hordes of aggressive “Infected” zombies in a cinematic backdrop in which the players “star” as each character in a fictional movie. The Survivors goal is to help each other make it through various scenarios to safety. The Infected are controlled by an AI that dynamically balances difficulty and mood depending on the players progress and situation. In an alternate game mode, human players can control up to four different monsters with special abilities and cooperate to stop the Survivor players.

Other then staring in a movie, there’s no story here.

Rambling:
Why do zombies in this game want to kill me? The undead in World of Warcraft love me and are my friend. It’s not like I ever did anything bad to them, right? They’re probably attacking us because of the old guy… I knew I should have never brought him a long.

Gameplay:
4/5 – Singleplayer
Pick up a gun, run and shoot, open door. Now, do that throughout the whole game. Yes, very fun at first, but after doing that some odd hundred times it could get a little old.

For gameplay like running around, shooting and just controlling the character, its smooth and fun. The AI on a hard difficulty gives a nice challenge.

There are five different stories with five chapters to a story; each chapter takes about 10 to 20 minutes to beat. So it’s kinda short but there’s a lot of replay value.

5/5 – Multiplayer
There’s both a co-op mode where you can go through the whole single player with four of your friends, or there’s a versus mode which four people are the survivors and four people are the infection, and the goal is for the survivors to get from point a to point b while the infection try to stop them anyway they can.

Other then some lag it all works great and the multiplayer is the best part of the game. “You will have a lot of fun playing as the infected trying to stop your friends.”

4/5 – Graphics:
The graphics are not as amazing as Gears of War, but they get the job done for this type of game. The zombies look very sick and scary, and all four survivors look pretty neat.

4/5 – Sound:
The guns sound like guns, you have heard that in a thousand other FPS games. What does sound neat/scary; however, are all the noises the infection make and the music playing.

In the end:
If you’re looking for a fun shooter to play with your friends on a weekend, then this is a good game to pick up. But, playing by yourself I can see getting a little old after a while. Also, if you’re the kinda person that wants a story in your game you might want to look somewhere else.

4/5 – Buy it for the multiplayer
