Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood DLC, Animus Project Update 2.0 Free in January

The first free DLC for Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood is available today on Xbox 360 and PS3. Ubisoft revealed that the next downloadable content, Animus Project Update 2.0, will also be free and stab dudes in the throat at some point in January.

The Animus Project Update 1.0 will include a brand-new game mode and map for Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood Multiplayer.

Located on a rocky tidal island of Normandy in France, the new map, Mont Saint-Michel, offers breathtaking scenery sure to enchant all. Its particular topography includes narrow streets, a high-perched bell-tower and multi-leveled architecture, perfect for hunters and predators alike to surge from out of nowhere to execute their prey. To survive, recruits need to use free-running and narrow roads to their advantage.

The second free DLC, the Animus Project Update 2.0 will also have a new game mode and map for Brotherhood.

The new map called Pienza will provide players with a new free-running playground where predators and targets can blend and disappear. In the new Chest Capture mode two teams comprised of three players each partner with fellow Templars to either defend or capture Chests. Also included is the new Templar Score feature to reward diligent work by Abstergo recruits.

Check out the new trailer below. I am pretty impressed with the way Ubisoft is supporting the multiplayer in Brotherhood and hopefully this will keep players going past the honey moon period.
