MAG is Zipper Imperative’s latest military focused shooter. Known for the PS2 era SOCOM games Zipper sought out to create a large scale military structured First Person Shooter. 256 players battle over objectives by calling in air strikes, vehicles and using authentic command chains. This is an online only game which allows players to rank up via team work and cooperation.
Command structure: OIC commands 4 platoons, each platoon leader orders 4 squads and each squad leader is in charge of an 8 player group – making up 128 players on each side.
This game is a ton of fun if people are listening to orders and working together. When that’s the case and objectives are being executed the game is at its best, allowing players to level up to be eligible for squad leader, platoon leader and eventually OIC calling the shots and battle strategy. Sounds awesome right? It is! Some games can turn into epic fails if too many idiots crowd the battlefield but many players are there for a reason and even use headsets!
onPause verdict: Rent It! – MAG impresses with large scale battles and unique gameplay. Rent this title before you buy to make sure this is your cup of tea.

Mass Effect 2 is the continuation of an epic storyline, leading players into a suicide mission which you or your crew might not survive depending on your specific actions. Import your Shepard from Mass Effect 1 and see how your decisions pan out in this incredible sequel or play as a new character.
This BioWare sequel is vastly improved in every way, making the fun parts more fun and eliminating the broken or tedious bits from Mass Effect 1. No more elevators and long loading times. Shooting is now actually awesome and biotic powers more satisfying. The altered party management in battles works extremely well. The new dynamic conversation interrupt system works great and changes relationships and random encounters greatly.
This game had me hooked from the first minute to the last thermal clip fired. Mass Effect 2 has one of the best openings of any game and is extremely cinematic. All characters are very deep and likable. Decisions matter. I am starting a new Mass Effect 1 character to see the story unfold differently.
onPause verdict: Buy It! – This game has tons of re-playability, loads of DLC in the pipeline and is a must play for casual gamers and hardcore Sci-Fi fans alike.

We are very happy to introduce a new feature to onPause called ‘onPoint’. What is it? onPoint serves as an on the rocks quick hit review of games the staff are currently playing. We won’t be going into the fine details of a game’s feature set or talk about all the coloring options of the character creator, instead we will focus on; What is it? Is it fun? Why you should or shouldn’t be playing it. Oh and we will score it: Buy it! – Rent it! – Skip It!
You will be seeing these roll out in the next few days. Instead of reading through those long monotone 3 page reviews you can swing by here and get our take on it in about 150 words. Let us know what you think about the new feature in the comments.
