MajorNelson has just confirmed on his blog that USB memory support will be available April 6th. Once you download the system update on the 6th you will be able to use your flash drives on the Xbox 360 for storage (profiles, game saves, demos and more.) You will be able to use two USB devices at the same time (up to 16 GB each) for a total of 32 GB.

{Image via: Joystiq)
The system won’t just configure the device once it is connected to the console. You’ll need to head to the memory area in system settings, select your USB Device, and choose from Configure Now (Format and Configure the Full Device), or Customize (you can choose how much memory you want configured for Xbox360 from the free space on the device.)Update: Check out the Microsoft branded 16gb USB device below, set to launch in May sometime.

The somewhat adorable main enemy from Game of the Year 2007 is back with a vengeance! Valve has cleverly hinted at a sequel to Portal over the past week with updates to the original including hidden Morse code messages and a new ending. GameInformer has the cover story including many new details and screens of Portal 2.
The game makes a very intriguing impression in the article and the screens. While it keeps its humorous main enemy GlaDOS it seems to be a lot darker this time around. The environments are going to be tougher and challenge players more than the original.
I don't know about you but I am extremely excited for Valves next masterpiece coming to 360, MAC and PCs near you!
Full details in the screens. Enjoy!

"We're a lot alike, you and I. You tested me. I tested you. You killed me. I - oh, no, wait. I guess I haven't killed you yet. Well. Food for thought during this next test."

Max from Ubisoft answered a question today in a video Q&A confirming that a demo for Splinter Cell: Conviction is in the works. A date has not been set yet but I would say right around April 13th when the full game releases.
Max: "Yes, there will be one. I can't tell you what map or when it's going to be released yet. My lips are sealed."
Many great games have released over the past month or so and Microsoft had their fair share of sales in consoles and software. So much so, that they beat the Wii and also claimed the top spot in game sales with BioShock 2 taking the cake.
You can get the full list of game and console sales below. One notable game to make it in the top 10 is Heavy Rain, one of onPause's favorite games of the year so far. The other notable? BioShock 2 on the PS3 did not make the top 10 this month.

The guys over at 1Up and Gamevideos posted an off screen capture of CryTek's latest engine running the sequel to the PC only blockbuster of past years. Crysis 2 is shown off with different environments, lighting effects, hit detection and facial animation. The game was sampled in a compilation video providing a nice comparison of PC and console footage all designed and run on CryEngine 3.

OnLive was one of my personal highlights of last years GDC and the service made another announcement at this year's outing. OnLive will finally launch on June 17th in the United States at a monthly subscription fee of $14.95. Loyalty and multi-month pricing will be announced at E3 later this year. There are currently no details on how much extra rentals and purchases of games will be.
The cloud computing service could steal a lot of Sony and Microsoft's motion tech thunder if it becomes a hit. But why can it also fail?
I raise this question for one specific reason, pricing. At 15 bucks a month an OnLive subscription will get consumers many features such as instant play demos of all games, cross platform multiplayer (PC, MAC, OnLive Mini Console), Brag Clips and spectating but there is a hook - no rentals are included. I can perfectly understand that full purchases will cost us money but why rentals? I can pay 15 Dollars a month and get unlimited rentals from GameFly or Gamerang including console exclusives which WON'T be available on OnLive. I believe the pricing structure for game rentals will be a pivotal point for OnLive's success. If consumers have to shell out an additional 8 bucks or so to rent a game this service will cost a lot of hard earned cash.
Will consumers buy into cloud gaming or will they look elsewhere if an annual subscription can cost us up to 180 Dollars to simply play demos 'instantly'?
I personally have a problem with this unless a weekly rental is sub 3 Dollars or the monthly fee is decreased since 180 bucks only provide limited access to this gaming platform. Sure, the service will allow owners of mediocre spec computers to play games like Burnout Paradise and Crysis but the cost at accessing the service might be too high.
OnLive also announced that the first 25,000 people who pre-register here can get 3 free months of OnLive to get a taste. Hurry and sign up!

Live from the Sony press event of the Game Developer Conference 2010 comes the name confirmation for the Sony motion controller, Playstation Move to come to living rooms all over the country this fall.
Sony announced the name and also several variations of the new hardware which will come as a stand alone add on or a bundle at or under 100 Dollars. The bundle will get consumers a Playstation Move controller, an Eye Toy and a game collection. No pricing available for software or single pieces of hardware at this point. There will also be a Move supporting controller available used to play first or third person shooters including an analog stick. SOCOM 4 was shown off using the tech and will be playable in its entirety with the Playstation Motion controller.
Several additional mini games were shown off on stage including a street fighting game, several family mini games as well as sword fighting along with table tennis. Those are all first party games which will be available at launch while 'virtually every third party' is working on PS Motion games right now.
Sony's previously announced but not named, motion controller looked very precise in its 'one to one' movements in all of the demos which included a 'hair cutting mini game'. Stay tuned for more info to pour out over the coming months including existing software support for games such as Little Big Planet which was demoed as well.

DICE's sequel to Bad Company was supposed to be the big Modern Warfare 2 killer this year and it certainly managed to live up to the high expectations. Players of the first game will feel right at home. This First Person Shooter has the familiar B Company squad's banter throughout the many diverse missions and Destruction 2.0 steals the show. Along with the story mode comes an incredible multilayer experience which will keep you coming back all year long.
Bad Company 2 has the definitive multilayer modes with amazing gameplay to back it up. Conquest mode is back with a vengeance and rush is as fun as ever. Playing on these massive maps using tanks, UAVs and the many other vehicles brings lots of depth and fun to the game along with the previously mentioned Destruction 2.0 engine which makes blowing stuff up very pretty.
There is no question in my mind, Bad Company 2 has exceeded my expectations and the fun factor has sky rocketed. EA's project 10 dollar will bring loads of free DLC to the game throughout the year.
onPause verdict: Buy It! - Battlefield Bad Company 2 is a must buy no matter the platform, it has an excellent single player mode combined with amazing multiplayer.

Mafia 2 has been in development by 2K for a very long time and we are finally approaching its launch later this year. Wet your taste buds with the latest trailer!
Quantic Dream, the studio behind creator director David Cage, put a big leap forward in game design. Their latest Interactive Drama Heavy Rain is one of the most unique experiences you'll ever have. The title received an immense amount of hype due to an impressive tech demo at 2006’s E3. Heavy Rain is a thriller based on a serial murderer named the ‘Origami Killer’. There are four playable characters which are all connected to a series of murders.
Right from the start I felt that Heavy Rain was going to be a special game. The control scheme is very intuitive and different from traditional methods. Players will execute a brilliantly broad range of actions from brushing your teeth and getting dressed to frantically fighting some seriously bad guys or escaping a hairy situation which will keep you to the edge of your seat the entire time. The story is incredibly engaging and will keep you thinking about your decisions (which actually matter) for days.
Heavy Rain is the first game I have ever played which caused me to feel actual emotions close to a movie experience. While some characters are developed better than others it does not hurt the overall experience. The Game looks gorgeous and plays really well.
onPause verdict: Buy It! – Heavy Rain is an incredibly well executed adventure drama with so many important decisions that you will want to play it many times over, a must have for every PS3 owner!
