EA has stated in a recent press release that it will be acquiring Pop Cap for 650 Million Dollars plus an additional 100 Million Stock & Multi-year Earn-Out.
What does that mean?
EA CEO John Riccitiello has previously mentioned the importance of the digital space and how big of a part it is in EA’s strategy. In order to be a leader in the digital and casual space, EA decided it would be a great move to acquire the best of the best in this space: Pop Cap.
The makes of killer hits like Plants vs. Zombies and Bejeweled will start being a part of EA by August of this year once all regularity approvals have passed.
EA stated that it will bring Pop Cap games to more platforms soon and one of them surely will be Origin.
