The internet is ready to be set on fire with flame wars over the Battlefield 3 versus Modern Warfare 3 battle. Today we finally received some actual data to fuel the fire.
EA has released a statement to announce that Battlefield 3 has sold through (to consumers) an estimated 5 Million copies worldwide in its first week on sale.
This number, while probably being very accurate, is still based on 'internal estimates' but should provide some insight as to how well the game is doing globally.
Battlefield 3 has not only sold incredibly well but also received critical acclaim, carrying an 'above 85' average on consoles and 'above 90' on the PC.

Piranha Games has been hard at work to make this new title an epic PC title which will no doubt impress the community, which has been dying to play a new MechWarrior game.

What would you get if the narrator from Bastion and the gameplay designer of Limbo had a love child? It would be Patrick Stewart narrating my gameplay of War of the Worlds for XBLA and PSN. Doesn’t that get you freakin’ excited already? Yea it does!
Enough of history, it is time to detail what makes this game so amazing. First off, being a platformer, there hasn’t been much done that couldn’t already be done. Which means, some sort of new aspect will have to be introduced, or rather, reintroduced. Other Ocean, from what I understand, prides itself on simplicity within classic retrospection. This meaning, everything is based from classic 2D design. It is an art form I feel is taken for granted. The War of the Worlds proves with layered 2D parallax and animated rotoscoping brings the old world into the new has never looked prettier. Every world is enormous, and the detail within each level is amazing. From background explosions to foreground objects there isn’t a moment of level design that wasn’t giving hours of thought. While still within the aspect of graphics and design, each world has countless panicking civilians. And each time one of them got taken, or vaporized, my heart sank. The game sucked me in and made me believe. Kudos to them, but shame on them for killing so many people. 
Despite the fact of troublesome controls, The War of the Worlds is a 100% smash hit. It is worth playing over and over, until perfection is accomplished. And I think that is exactly what the leaderboards will offer.

Today Ubisoft revealed a brand new downloadable IP for calendar year 2012. Babel Rising will incorporate both Kinect and Move in their respective platforms. The game will be available as a downloadable for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

I love the iOS platform and its many games that are actually good and worthwhile. Today Nexus Mobile announced that it licensed the 'epic' Unreal 3 Engine for their upcoming iOS shooter "Combat Arms: Zombies".

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is joining the launch trailer madness that broke lose this week. When MW3 hits stores, fans will complete the trilogy which will see out the crazy storyline of Modern Warfare that was started in 2007 when Infinity Ward put Call of Duty on the map.

Today Warner Brothers broke news that they will publish CD Project's 'The Witcher 2' on Xbox 360 in North America. The excellent PC RPG is currently being ported to Xbox 360 and will release sometime in 2012.
