Sure, EA's Battlefield 3 may not have sold as insanely crazy as Modern Warfare 3, but it is certainly selling well enough to make headlines.
Today EA revealed that the game has sold 8 Million copies, which means 8 Million people actually bought the game, while a total of 12 Million copies were shipped to retailers.
Those are some impressive numbers, we don't have any detail on how many copies were sold on the different platforms. Battlefield 3 had sold 5 Million copies in its first week on sale, which makes this another 3 Million as of November.

We knew the previously revealed list of Xbox LIVE services would kick off sooner rather than later. The first TV streaming service for the Xbox 360 Dashboard will be Verizon FiOS.
26 channels will be available if you meet a few criteria, well, they are rather massively prohibiting criteria. In order to get those 26 channels on your Xbox 360 Dash, which will be Kinect enabled, you will need to subscribe to Xbox LIVE Gold, FiOS TV and Internet.
The concept is great and we are excited about the possibilities it brings but having to pay an additional 100 Dollars or so per month seems just too high of a wall to climb - unless you are a pre-existing customer of course.
New customers will be able to take advantage of a promotion which will include an 89 Dollar Triple Play (For the first two years), Xbox LIVE Gold and a copy of HALO Combat Evolved Anniversary. This deal will last until January 21st.

In a world where 'bro-shooters' like Modern Warfare or Gears of War head up the charts and mind share of millions of gamers, it will be nice to have a more serious take on the genre when 2K Games' Spec Ops: Line releases later next year.
This will be the only time the word 'nice' will be associated with 'The Line'.
The Line will take players through a dark journey around main protagonist Captain Walker who heads into a destroyed Dubai to find a group of military members.
He will not believe his eyes when he and his team arrive and discover the conditions of this formerly glitz and glamour filled city. Dubai has been destroyed by catastrophic sandstorms and disaster which leaves the population in shambles.
Captain Walker will have to make choices that deal with life or death moralities and pure horror, 2K has released a first trailer to showcase the mood and backdrop of the destroyed, formerly oil-rich city.
Prepare.

Serious Sam 3: BFE is out now, we are currently reviewing it and will share the awesomeness in due time, but for now we will share the epic trailer that is "Fork Parker".

So, before playing Serious Sam 3: BFE I should note a couple fundamental thoughts I had. First off, I have really come to take for granted the flashing red screen when my health was low. And secondly, I forgot the importance of run and gun. I’m serious… pun intended.
The first thing to take note of and I’m pretty sure it is all intentional, Serious Sam is probably one the funniest cliché characters on the face of the gaming earth. If that is offensive towards the voice actor, or the developers, I’m sorry. They should have thought of that before they let me play. He practically spews exactly what you expect him to. Kind of like a Duke Nukem, without as much perversion - and in a much more ironic way. Regardless of Sam, the rest of the voices and audio really fit the theme of the game. Music crescendos subtly in high contact areas and settles right back into the stage's normal track after a battle. Furthermore, without the sound, you would have no freaking clue that a suicide charger was going to kill you soon. So, count your blessing.
Because I made that Duke Nukem reference earlier, I’m going to use it as a great segue into the gameplay aspect. The entire time I played SS: BFE, I kept thinking, “This is how Duke Nukem Forever should have played like.” Now, first off, this is not a comparison of validity between the two games. Just a mere observation of how SS: BFE plays. The basic fundamentals of the game are “shoot the crap out of the aliens.” In the event that you aren’t being overwhelmed with one of the many hordes of aliens, you can melee them into defeat. For most interactions, you get a custom kill tactic or animation. Some enemies get their hearts ripped out, some get their eyes ripped out, some get their necks snapped, and some get stomped - awesome. Any way you look at it, they get messed up, and you’re safe. Each death, I just kept thinking - Sam is saving the old school PC shooter, not the glorious Duke. Again, mere observation, not a point of validity.
Continuing the point of gameplay, SS: BFE actually excels really well in other aspects, too. First of which, the assortment of weapons hails back to the age old question, “How in the hell can I carry two shotguns, a pistol, a sledgehammer, and a rocket launcher?” But, that really is the enjoyment of it. SS: BFE requires the use of the weapons according to the enemies. Some enemies only require a pistol, while others seriously need a rocket launcher because they are a pain. Secondly, I really enjoy the 1 vs 1 million trait within video games, which counts true for Serious Sam. Nearly every level has a horde section. There are loads of enemies attacking you at one time, which unfortunately leads into the pitfalls of our game.Mainly, each level is a rinse and repeat of the previous level. You enter the area, you wander around for a while, and then inevitably encounter a monster you can’t kill, so you find a new weapon. This then leads you into a horde sequence with loads of armor, health, and ammo. It isn’t a terrible mechanic by any means, but it gets repetitive when every level has these elements. Secondly, and I’m not sure if this was my experience exclusively or a known problem, but I regularly came across technical issues while playing. It usually happened in between levels, for some reason, when I would complete a level the next one just wouldn’t load. It would simply end up crashing. Thankfully, the autosave completed before it froze or crashed.
Despite, the issues that Serious Same 3 has, I still loaded the game right back up and continued playing. I really couldn’t put it down. It was fun to play through each level. I had a blast killing millions of aliens, and *spoiler alert begins* I really loved blowing the hole in the sphinx. *spoiler alert ends*.
Score: 7.5/10

Evolution Studios, the creators of the PS3 exclusive series MotorStorm, are ready to branch out. Today Sony announced on the PlayStation Blog that Evolution is working on a new game called MotorStorm RC.
Now you may say, why would I want to play that? I can tell you why, because MotorStorm lends itself perfectly to miniaturized off road racing ala IronMan Offroad Racing which we all fondly remember, unless you are a baby and Halo was your first game, EVAR!
Anyway, MotorStorm RC will be a crossplatform title that can be played on the PS3 and the PlayStation Vita as a PSN Downloadable game. The game will feature 16 unique tracks in 4 locations and sport 4 player split/screen on PS3.
Expect MotorStorm RC to be available on or sometime after the Vita launch.

BIG NEWS Xboxers, if you were not lucky enough to get into the recent Xbox 360 dashboard beta, you won't have to gaze at the Youtube videos of other people playing with it anymore. The great MajorNelson has revealed that the latest enhancement on the Xbox 360 will release to all on December 6th.
The new dashboard comes with many new features that I think everyone will love. First is an all new visual layout that resembles the Metro UI found on Windows phones and the upcoming Windows 8.
Second; Microsoft is bringing a Bing like search to the dashboard that will make it way easier for you to find what you are looking for on the Xbox Marketplace.
The Dashboard update will also sport newly added 'beacons' which allow players to tell others what and if they want to play a game, this should avoid annoying invites when playing Alan Wake for instance.
And finally for now, Microsoft is bringing a big white fluffy cloud to the Xbox that will store your Xbox LIVE profile and game saves. Making it easier for you to load your account up at friends houses.
We have to still wait for the inclusion of the TV and movie applications until further notice though.

When Xbox Kinect came onto the playing field last year, there was really only one reason to buy the hardware, and that was a copy of Harmonix’ Dance Central. Even a year after the game has released, its serious competitors are few and far between. The one game to rival Dance Central’s #1 status in the Kinect based lineup is its own successor – Dance Central 2.
Anyone who picked up Dance Central last year knows that the game displays not only excellent technical standards in reading player movements and providing directions, but also possesses an extremely danceable track list. In typical Harmonix fashion, as in Rock Band before, Dance Central 2 lets players import the entire library of its predecessor for a 5 Dollar fee, not a bad deal considering how many great songs were originally included. The track list for Dance Central 2 is equally impressive; there is a plethora of artists and variety to choose from, we can enkoy old school jams like Hot Stuff by Donna Summer or The Humpty Dance from Digital Underground as well as new dance club hits like Sexy Chick by David Guetta and Akon or Bulletproof by La Roux.
Dance Central 2 finally adds the highly anticipated 2 player mode in its arsenal, making the multiplayer experience in your living room even more meaningful. There are many subtle additions to DC2 like Kinect voice commands which allow players to queue up songs verbally, and the introduction of dance crews via the crew challenge story mode. Dance Central 2 also allows you to build custom playlists and improved the ‘Break It Down’ mode, helping players even more when trying to learn specific sections of songs.Everything that worked well in the original Dance Central has been carried over successfully and still remains fun and quality. Dance Central 2 builds on its predecessor’s strong base and manages to add meaningful features and modes to make this game worth the purchase as opposed to buying DLC tracks. Harmonix is without a doubt one of the pioneers for Kinect software and produced another excellent experience. While it is hard to write a whole lot about a dancing game, since it lacks any kind of deep story line or ‘weapons unlocks’ ala Call of Duty, it is easy to say that Dance Central 2 is nailing the genre better than anyone else. For those of you that didn't like the 'Freestyle' sections as much, they have become optional as well.
The way the game provides directions using a rolling wheel of flash cards and a stylish digital avatar make it impossible not to ‘get it’. Dance Central 2 offers the most intuitive dancing and interactive Kinect experience to date, which can now be shared with a friend in local multiplayer. Getting ‘flawless’ remarks when nailing a difficult routine is as fun and rewarding as ever, constantly letting players know when they are doing well and when they may need to move the arm out just a little bit further. When it comes to dancing and Kinect games, no one comes really that close to Harmonix’ games, at least up until now. Dance Central 2 is still a really fun, entertaining experience and has added enough to its feature set to not overstay its welcome. The game is a showcase piece of software for Xbox Kinect, that makes looking completely silly in front of friends and family awesome, rather than embarrassing. If you are picking up a Kinect for Christmas this year, or are looking for another game to get, make sure you put Dance Central 2 in your shopping cart.
Score: 9 / 10

I fondly remember my first few hours of playing the original Assassin’s Creed when it stepped on the scene in 2007. The original and highly enjoyable open world adventure game, which had some repetition issues in its first installment, has grown into one of the most enjoyable series to date. After players experienced Altair’s journey, we stepped into Ezio’s shoes who has been the main protagonist in Assassin’s Creed 2 as well as Brotherhood. Both games have sent the franchise to the top of the genre’s charts, which is now set to conclude Ezio’s journey with Assassin’s Creed Revelations.
Right off the bat I have to say that the title may be a bit misleading as Revelations does more to fill in Altair’s backstory than progress the Assassin’s Creed storyline. While this may be a bit of a gripe I have with Revelations, I can also say that it is an absolutely fantastic game that deserves to be on Christmas wish lists this winter. The final events of Brotherhood have sent Desmond’s fate into a tailspin who is now stuck on Animus Island where he is greeted by Subject, 16 who gives some background as to what is happening. There are several Desmond challenges in the form of unique first person puzzles to be completed on the island, they are completely optional but provide some history to Desmond’s life which we haven’t heard much about previously, as well as some downtime when needed.

When not spending time with Subject 16 on Animus Island, players will live again through the eyes of Ezio who travels to Constantinople to retrieve five keys to open Altair’s library before the Templars do. Getting the five keys will help Ezio and Desmond bring some sort of closure to their respective stories. There are also playable sections of Altair’s memories which are actually lived through by Ezio who is based on Desmond’s DNA sequences but this ‘twice removed’ mechanic doesn’t result in a ‘kick’ at the end. Altair’s sections are very linear and relatively short but they do add some additional plot points, flavor, and variety to Revelations.
Ubisoft has probably made one of the best games of last year with Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood which made it hard to top, especially with a short turnaround time of one year before Revelations. Once Ezio arrives in Constantinople, a single city this time around, he sets out to find the five keys needed to open the library. Along the way he meets fellow assassins, Templars, some bad guys, and of course a love interest, it wouldn’t be Ezio without the romance. Even though Ezio has become an old, grizzled man who shows the signs of decade long battles with the Templar order, he still possess the skills required to complete any objective – this means to kill mostly.

All the awesome and fun elements that worked so incredibly well in Brotherhood are back this year and exciting as ever, with the exception of horses which have been removed. Ezio will once again build his Assassin’s Guild, take over Templar Dens, buy shops around the city complete faction missions and sent his assassin’s on tours across the globe. The other new feature in Revelations besides Desmond’s first person puzzles is the introduction of tower defense. Yes, I thought it was a bit odd myself to stumble upon this ‘mini game’ within an Assassin’s Creed title. Each time when Ezio’s ‘Templar Awareness’ level aka wanted level, gets too high, the Templars will try and take over any captured Assassin’s Den. Dens can be acquired by seeking out the location, kill the Templar captain and sync the tower. Once the Templars attack you will need to head to the Assassin’s Den and initiate a wave based tower defense game. While I thought this was an interesting idea, I don’t think it will return in the next installment as it just feels a little bit clunky; however I was able to master the mode and got some level of enjoyment out of it.
The real fun in an Assassin’s Creed game lies in the actual gameplay which is set in an incredibly detailed and beautiful world. Constantinople is an incredible backdrop for Ezio’s latest adventure. The city is amazingly detailed and feels very lively and natural. This may be the best an Assassin’s Creed game has ever looked or sounded. The combat system is very much like Brotherhood’s, which is a good thing. Taking on a dozen of city guards is as fun as ever. Ezio’s skills allow players to defeat foes with such precision that it almost seems like an art form, combined with visceral speed and slow-mo cams to drive home the final kill on a sequence. The combat is addicting and also introduced two new major elements – bomb crafting and the hook blade.

It was hard to believe that Revelations’ core gameplay could be improved but Ubisoft did just that by increasing the variety and options this year. The hook blade, which also allows Ezio to traverse along the new zip-lines found across the cities’ rooftops, makes for some epic fighting combos that had me cringe a few times. The hook blade can be used for climbing as well as making that long jump which used to have us bomb to the ground. Speaking of explosives, Revelations has introduced bomb crafting. Ezio has now gained the ability to build a variety of bombs from materials found across the city. These bombs have saved me several times from an overwhelming number of guards. Using explosives like the cherry or poison bomb as well as the tripwire bomb can become essential in Revelations as new enemies are found in Constantinople which are not one hit kills and require some careful strategy. There will be dozens of possible combinations to make any bomb for any scenario.
A surprisingly well received mode in last year’s Brotherhood was the multiplayer which is back again for Revelations. While Ubisoft has kept the core gameplay intact, they have added more maps and playable characters this time around. In addition to the broader variety, there are also subtle changes which made the multiplayer even more enjoyable like the simplified radar and a new way to defend against an attacker – this had previously felt to be the weakest point of the mode.
Assassin’s Creed Revelations is an absolutely beautiful, fun and rewarding experience. Even though it could be argued that Revelations is more of an upgraded version of Brotherhood, it is very hard not to love and recommend this game. Ubisoft has nailed the combat yet again and made valuable additions to it and also told a more comprehendible story, which doesn’t quite ‘reveal’ as much as I thought but still carries the player through the game with enough plot points to be engaging. The newly added tower defense sections will be polarizing but don’t break the game as they are completely optional. Assassin’s Creed Revelations may not have brought us any breakthrough moments as Brotherhood did but the formula still works amazingly well. The multiplayer mode has also been upgraded and should be able to bring players back many times over. Revelations is certainly a game that should be on everyone’s radar this fall, sharpen your blades.
Score: 9 / 10
