Well, Tim and the team at Double Fine made us wait long enough but we finally got some answers as to what the Kickstarter funded Double Fine Adventure actually is.
The game’s name and theme have been revealed during a PAX East panel as well as the official website which is now live. The title of the game is ‘Broken Age’ which features point and click type gameplay and storytelling as players follow two characters. A young boy is living in solitary on a space ship under the care of a ‘motherly computer’ while the girl – the second character – was chosen to be sacrificed to a terrible monster. The boy wants to break free and adventure out to do good in the world while the girls is fighting back.
This sounds like quite the charming and intriguing setup for the classic adventure game if you ask me. Also, the game’s website has backer only forums as well as access to the past and future episodes of the documentary from 2 Player Productions about the development of Broken Age.
