It is Friday, and there is no better way to spend the weekend than playing a new release, or continuing a game that you’ve been playing for a while. Either way, it is time for Weekend Gaming.
New Releases
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) – A game themed after 80’s action films? Check. A protagonist with the name Sgt. Rex Power Colt? Check. Sweet laser weapons and chrome sharks? Check. This standalone expansion to Far Cry 3 looks insanely awesome, and according to Andreas, it is. It looks like an absolute blast, and you don’t need the Far Cry 3 base game to play.
FEZ (PC) – The incredibly popular Xbox 360 indie game was released for the PC this week. The puzzle game stars the character Gomez as he finds out that his world is a bit different than he originally thought. It features some unique ways to solve puzzles, and some really great platforming. Just be prepared for your mind to be blown!
Brandon’s Weekend Gaming
FEZ – Since I did not get FEZ for the Xbox when it was initially released, I thought I would try it out on PC to see what all the hubbub is about the game. I’ve played for about two hours, and I am hooked. The puzzle solving mechanics in the game are great, especially when you are manipulating the world around you to change the perspective. I can’t wait to play it all weekend.
L.A. Noire – This was really cheap on Steam last weekend, and even though I’ve beaten it before, I really enjoyed the game. I’m interested to see how the PC version compares to the Xbox 360 version. I already know one way it will be superior: no disc swapping.
Andreas’ Weekend Gaming
Defiance – I am playing more Defiance this weekend as I am enjoying the MMO Shooter crossover in this interesting universe. It is hard to judge a game like this before putting some decent time into it but it seems alright.
