Why you don’t need to buy a PS4 or Xbox One at Launch

E3 just happened and wrapped up last night. New consoles were shown, priced and detailed. We saw a crap load of new games for the next generation consoles which will be filled with AAA Mega Releases like Battlefield 4, Bungie’s Destiny, Respawn’s Titanfall and of course the annual Call of Duty with Ghosts.

But do you have to run out and pick up a PS4 or an Xbox One this holiday? Should you?

Of course one might say but the answer isn’t so black and white, in fact, you really don’t need to buy the new consoles from Microsoft and Sony because many of the newly announced games will be available on your PS3 and Xbox 360. Shocked? Maybe that’s because both console makers pitched its massive AAA games on the big screen this week.

Sure there are some PS4 exclusives like the new Killzone Shadow Fall, Drive Club and The Witness and the Xbox One’s Forza 5 and Dead Rising 3 but guess what most of the other big games that made so many of us ‘oooohhhhh’ and ‘aaaahhhh’ will be available on other platforms.

Battlefield 4

Destiny will release sometime in 2014 to PS3 and Xbox 360 as well as the new consoles, the same goes for this fall’s Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty Ghosts. Titanfall is set to release sometime in early 2014 and will come to Xbox 360 as well as the PC and the Xbox One. Other games that will release on current and next-gen consoles are Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag and the hyped Watch Dogs.

If you are scratching your head now, I have even more reasons for you to wait to buy a PS4 or an Xbox One which will cost $399 and $499 respectively. Saints Row 4, the over the top open world President simulator, will be hitting 360 and PS3 this August and this game alone surely will have 100s of hours in play time with DLC. Have you heard of Grand Theft Auto V? Yup, that’s a PS3 and 360 game and not even announced for next gen. The list goes on and on.

I could tell you about how Metal Gear Solid V, FIFA 14m Mad Max, and more will be available on current gen tech but I don’t want to waste your time with games like Gran Turismo 6 or Beyond Two Souls for the PS3. Have a nice day.
