Here at onPause, we love the Steam summer sale. Since we are not fans of the summer heat, it is a great way to grab a few games for little money, and spend the hot afternoons in the cool AC. The sale will last until July 22, and every day we will tell you which are our favorite games in the Daily Deals, along with one Under $10 and Under $5 game.
Daily Deals
Bioshock Infinite (-50% $29.99) – The latest in the BioShock series is arguably one of the best games of 2013. Set in the floating city of Columbia during 1912, you play as Booker DeWitt, a man given the task to bring back a girl to wipe away his debt. As with any BioShock game, you quickly learn that things are not what they seem. This is the lowest price that is has ever been on Steam, and is well worth the $30 price tag.
Hotline Miami (-75% $2.49) – This was one of our favorite games of 2012. It is a top-down shooter that features an insane amount of violence, a pretty trippy storyline, and one of the best soundtracks that has ever featured in a video game. If you’ve yet to play Hotline Miami, use that money you would use for a cup of coffee and get this awesome game.
Antichamber (-66% $6.79) – First-person puzzle games are pretty popular right now, and one of the best is Antichamber. This non-euclidean game will have you wandering aimlessly, solving puzzles in an ever changing world. It is okay if you feel like you’re on drugs while you play the game.
Under $10 Pick
Deus Ex: Human Revolution (-50% $9.99) – It is good that all of these deals run the entire sale because there are a lot of great games in the under $5 and under $10 categories. For day one we are going to recommend Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It is a great first-person game that lets you tackle all the levels in any way you see fit. You can go in guns blazing, or use stealth to complete objectives. Set in a very stylish and vibrant world, Human Revolution should be in every gamers library.
Under $5 Pick
Hitman: Blood Money (-50% $4.49) – The Hitman series from IO Interactive is incredible, and Blood Money is the one that stands out above the rest. It takes that winning Hitman formula, adds HD graphics, and some amazing locales to round out the package.
