It is Friday, and there is no better way to spend the weekend than playing a new release, or continuing a game that you’ve been playing for a while. Either way, it is time for Weekend Gaming.

New Releases

The Walking Dead: 400 Days (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) – One of the best games of 2012 had some DLC released this week. Titled 400 Days, it follows the story of five survivors and how their lives were affected during the first 400 days of the apocalypse. It is supposed to be the bridge between seasons one and two of the game.

Other Notable Releases

  • Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition (PC) – The ninth edition of Mortal Kombat was originally released in 2011 for consoles, but this week it has found itself on the PC. With it being the Komplete Edition, all of the DLC comes with your purchase, which only goes for $30. Not too bad if you ask me.
  • DARK (Xbox 360, PC) – This stealth action game puts you in control of Eric Bane, who learns at the beginning of the game that he is a vampire. It combines different vampire powers with stealth gameplay to give a unique take on the genre.

Brandon’s Weekend Gaming

Jack Keane 2: The Fire Within – Apparently point-and-click adventure games are popular in Germany, so I am playing through another German adventure game. So far I’m enjoying this one a little better than The Night of the Rabbit, only because Jack Keane 2 does a better job of explaining what the player should be doing at any given time. But there are times when I click on objects to interact with, and the game will stop working for about 30 seconds, which is kind of frustrating.

DARK – This is another game for review. I played through the first hour or so, and it is okay. I really like the vampire powers, and it seems like the upgrade system in the game will work well. Also, I am very confident at David Bateson does the voice of the main character.

Hitman: Absolution – I’ve yet to finish this game, but the Hitman series is one of my favorites. I just got too backed up on games I needed to finish to sit down and play this game. Maybe I can get through a large chunk of it this weekend.

Andreas’ Weekend Gaming

This weekend will actually be very busy and rather casual. Having finished a lot of games I think I may go back to the backlog and jump into finishing off The Last of Us, Mark of the Ninja and play some more XCOM Enemy Unknown.

Who knows what this feast filled 4th of July weekend will bring us. Have fun out there.
