Anyone who has ever played a Battlefield game before knows, this series is special. I remember my favorite ‘Battlefield Moments’ very well as me and a couple of friends went on Xbox Live and jumped into a multiplayer game with our team being behind. Not for long. We went into a squad, took over tanks and choppers to win conquest mode in the very last moments of the game by the skin of our teeth leaving tons of carnage behind.

Battlefield is special.

This fall EA and DICE have once again teamed up to bring fans a new game to experience that will be bigger and more action packed than ever before. Battlefield 4 will launch on current generation consoles and PC this week and also be a launch game on the Xbox One and PS4 in November.

The Battlefield series is known for its big open environments, squad based and vehicular combat. DICE has become a master at creating immersive and completely unscripted events all directed by you – the player.

Emergent gameplay is something that will happen a lot in Battlefield, random events, with random players or friends alike. Once you jump into a match anything can happen. Jump into a tank to wreck a jeep, only to jump out and be picked up in a helicopter which will crash and see you parachuting onto a building only to snipe the guy who was about to throw a grenade at your teammate.

This is Battlefield multiplayer.

When Battlefield 4 releases on next generation consoles in November, players will be able to jump into 64 player matches along with the ability to become a battlefield commander and help guide the squads to victory from your tablet.

Battlefield 4 is powered by Frostbite 3 which allows for destructible environments and what DICE calls Levelution – this means the maps will change while you play. Do collapsing skyscrapers and ships wrecking into islands sound cool? Well, then Battlefield 4 is for you!
