Top 5 Games of 2012 we played in 2013

Posted by: 11/27/2013

While the year  2013 is quickly coming to an end and we have yet to place many great games on our Game of the Year lists, we thought it was time to look back at some of 2012’s bast games we played in 2013.

Oftentimes we just don’t have enough time to really play all of the games that release in a calendar year. We now live in a world where games release digitally and on retail allowing for even more titles we may miss out on.

Below we have listed our Top 5 Games of 2012 that we played in 2013 to clear our backlog.

#5 – XCOM: Enemy Unknown

Firaxis and 2K Games release one of the best games of 2012 with the remake to the iconic XCOM which ended up being a Game of the Year contender on many peoples list.

#4 – Trials Evolution

As its predecessor on Xbox LIVE Arcade, Trials Evolution continued to test player’s abilities and patience to the max. We all remember how much fun it was to beat the scores of our XBL friends.

#3 – Mark of the Ninja

Mark of the Ninja was one of those games that came out of nowhere and really grabbed an audience that we are glad was there and receptive to this type of side scrolling stealth action.

#2 – Journey

Almost nothing needs to be said about That Game Company’s masterpiece. Journey made us smile, laugh and cry.

Journey Ps3

#1 – Far Cry 3

Ubisoft’s Far Cry 3 barely out-edged Journey for the Number 1 of this list but in the end the open world exploration was just a bit too good. Far Cry 3 was a fresh new game that launched at the very end of 2012. Ubisoft created a supreme game that made everything worth doing. Climbing towers to unlock the map was as important as hunting to upgrade our character and this was something we just don’t usually see from open world games. Many elements of Far Cry 3 made it into the very good Assassin’s Creed IV.
