It is Friday, and there is no better way to spend the weekend than playing a new release, or continuing a game that you’ve been playing for a while. Either way, it is time for Weekend Gaming.

New Releases

Octodad: Dadliest Catch (PC, Mac, Linux) – This is a game I’ve been looking forward to a while. You play as Octodad, an octopus that to the rest of the world looks like a normal human being. The goal is to go about every day life acting like a dad while you are controlling an octopus. This leads to some hilarious moments, like trying to make coffee in the morning and making a giant mess. Two weeks in a row you get to see the Octodad launch trailer on Weekend Gaming!

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (PS4, Xbox One) – For all you next-gen console owners, there is finally another game to put into your machine, and it is a fantastic game. Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics has re-released the latest Tomb Raider reboot for next-gen consoles with updated graphics, and an updated Lara Croft. The game is one of my favorites from 2013, and those getting to experience the game in all of its super hi-res graphics glory are in for a treat.

Andreas’ Weekend Gaming

Splinter Cell: Blacklist – I recently built a gaming rig which I am in love with already (can you say 10 second boot times with an SSD?), which I threw a GTX 770 into and that bad boy came with Splinter Cell: Blacklist which was a highly rated game last year that I never got to play. This weekend my 360 game pad is coming in and I will be able to play the game in glorious Ultra Settings on my big screen all while kicking back on the couch.

With Sam’s rebirth with a new voice actor and of course a plane in the sky as a mobile command center, I will see what the fuzz is all about.

Brandon’s Weekend Gaming

BioShock Infinite: Burial At Sea Episode 1 – With the announcement of Episode 2 releasing soon, I want to finish Episode 1 this weekend. I think I’m over halfway through, and I like it. It is pretty awesome being able to get back to Rapture with Booker and Elizabeth.

Assassin’s Creed IV – Yep, still playing this one, and I am still loving it.

DmC: Devil May Cry – I have heard great things about this game, mainly from the guys at Giant Bomb. Gaming confession time: I have actually never played a Devil May Cry game, and I’ve heard this is a worthy reboot of the series. With it being free on PlayStation Plus, I had to pick it up.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons – You may be wondering why I have so many games on my list for this weekend. With my new job I work a four-day week, which allows me to have a three-day weekend every week! My time to play video games just grew immensely. I played some of Brothers last weekend and really enjoy it. It takes some time getting used to that control scheme, but it is really unique, and the world that the game takes place in is gorgeous.
