Sponsored Post: Terrified by ‘The Evil Within’

Be afraid, be very afraid.

When you have hear the name Resident Evil 4, like me, you probably link it to being the quintessential survival horror game of recent years. The creator of Resident Evil, and specifically the maker or the fourth entry into the series, is back with a new game called ‘The Evil Within’. Shinji Mikami is often referred to as ‘The father of Survival Horror’ and he is leading development on the game.

The Evil Within is not about running through the world and blowing away enemies, if you are looking for that sort of game look elsewhere. Mikami and Tango Gameworks are creating an experience that puts players into a scary, unsettling and ultimately terrifying world and trying to survive, rather than being an action hero.

Detective Sebastian Castellanos is the protagonist of The Evil Within. Fate has brought him to a mysterious case that leaves his fellow officers slaughtered and Sebastian unconscious, only to wake up in the worst possible nightmare you can think of. Disturbing creatures, monsters and all sorts of other terrifying beings roam the beautifully crafted environments of The Evil Within and you will try and make it out alive.

Maybe you will even find out just what happened the night you were knocked out.

Mikami has created a lot of games in his past but with The Evil Within he wants to go back to the roots and push players to  the brink of their emotions once again. The Bethesda published survival horror game is set to launch in October for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and the PC. You can learn more about the game here.

Below is a clip of actual people, not actors, playing the game for the first time. As you will see, their reactions speak for themselves.
