Well, the Crytek rumors were sadly true enough for Koch Media, holding company of publisher Deep Silver, to acquire the IP for a game they were publishing. Homefront The Revolution was being developed by Crytek and was slated for a 2014 release under publisher Deep Silver.

Recently we heard lots of rumors of people not being paid by Crytek and that caused a mass exit by developers of the European developer. Since then Deep Silver has acquired the Homefront IP and is now not only publishing the game but also responsible for developing it with the new studio that it funded just recently and announced today.

Homefront The Revolution is being developed by newly founded, Nottingham-based Deep Silver Dambuster Studios.

“We are thrilled to see another great IP joining the Deep Silver universe,” says Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media Group. “We strongly believe in the potential of Homefront: The Revolution and trust in the new team to continue the path they have been walking in the last years.”

Deep Silver Dambuster Studios is the third development studio within the Koch Media Group, joining Deep Silver Volition and Deep Silver Fishlabs.

No announcement was made regarding the release date for the game. Stay tuned.
