The 2014 World Cup help shape FIFA 15’s Goalkeepers

EA Sports has revealed that the FIFA World Cup in Brazil this year really helped changed the way the final game will turn out on the Next-Gen hardware that is the PS4 and the Xbox One as well as the PC. During the 2014 World Cup keepers like the United States’ Tim Howard were the standouts as opposed to the strikers like like Neymar or Leo Messi – even though those guys also had good tournaments.

These goalkeeping accomplishments helped EA Sports really focus on the goalkeepers in FIFA 15 who will not only show more emotions as you can see here, but also how they make better decisions, change direction based on deflections or changing their mind when trying to catch a cross rather than punching out.

With the added memory of the new hardware EA Sports was able to add animations and really make a keeper act and behave like they do on the pitch in real life. No longer will goalkeepers dive for a ball that has since changed course or make a stupid run and crash into his own defenders. Things of this nature really took us out of the game and will add to the authenticity that FIFA 15 aims to deliver.

We can’t wait for September! Read our FIFA 15 Preview here.
