Come On Rockstar, Where Are The Grand Theft Auto V Heists?

Posted by: 11/10/2014

The promotional cycle for the remastered version of Grand Theft Auto V for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC is in full effect. As we recently reported, one of the biggest selling points for this revamped take on the game is that it features the option to play it with a first person perspective! Thankfully, it looks just as good as it sounds, with the scenes of shooting and driving being perhaps too enticing for their own good. And as we all wait to get our hands on the game—it hits the PS4 and Xbox One on November 18th and the PC on January 27th—one question looms above all the hype: Where are the heists?

According to iDigitalTimes, someone hacked into the code of GTAV and found lines that clearly point to achievements (and obviously missions) based on heists. There are apparently three in total that are set to become part of the game, with the heists reportedly taking part in a prison, bank, and laboratory. The article also noted that there will be two sets of missions for each heists, as you’ll do a pre-mission to get ready for the big time and then actually take part in the prison break, bank robbery, and such.

Anyone following the GTAV developments already knew these were coming, though, as hackers have been digging into the game’s patch/update code for the past few months. In September, for example, the International Business Times reported here that heist or casino content has been on the way for what feels like forever. And in discussing that possible update, they stated that additions like these could serve to increase the longevity of the game for its community.

That sentiment still rings true today, especially when you look at the following: 1) GTAV’s community is about to get exceptionally bigger with these remastered/reissued versions hitting shelves so soon; 2) Rockstar could appeal to another growing community by simply opening the casino—and having some gaming options available inside of it, of course.

Just think about how much fun it could be to have an entire casino experience dwelling within GTAV and how, in return, that would help to keep people playing the game. You could hold poker tournaments, just play the slots, and perhaps even doing some betting (like in previous entries in the franchise). If and when that becomes an option, chances are you’ll want to be properly prepared, especially at the games that require a bit more skill. There are, thankfully, some tools currently at your disposal at gaming platform Betfair. If you visit the site, you’ll find that many of the available games can be played for free. This allows you to get familiar with the game of your choice, be it something simple like slots or a more in-depth experience like poker, before officially diving into it.

Beyond that, however, there’s only one thing we can all do—wait. At least there’s plenty to do in the meantime, of course, including the options listed above (online gaming and/or upgraded GTAV) and other notable games on the way or currently available. Like Destiny, which we absolutely loved in our review.
