Every year we get new first person shooters and many of them end up covering the same old stuff like a war over in the middle east or shooting aliens in space. It is rather refreshing to see something different.

Cop Drama meets Battlefield!

Battlefield Hardline wants to bring gamers something new with an innovative and dramatic story that is presented in the style of a modern television crime drama with a sort of episodic delivery that will keep each chapter interesting. Trust me on this – Hardline will be explosive in every sense of the word, it is a Battlefield game after all.

After EA and DICE underwent some struggles with Battlefield 4 it was time to not only give the series to a new developer but also give the studio enough time to make this a game that is worthy of carrying the Battlefield name.

The creators of Dead Space make a Battlefield game

We all know that the series is all about its multiplayer which had always come first. The Battlefield moments, which is what DICE calls the unscripted situations that occur when you throw dozens of players in a multiplayer sandbox, are alive and well in Hardline. The spin on this years game, which is developed by Visceral, is of course the cops and robbers theme which include using the fantastic guns and gadgets we have come used to from the series and combine them with full on destruction of downtown LA when players try to rob banks or blast apart a car dealership.

Visceral is a studio with excellent pedigree and has focused a lot on the story and single player campaign which is quite apparent but did not pull any punches from the multiplayer experience – if you like Battlefiled then you must give Hardline more than just a quick glance.

You can pick up the game here and of course check out the official website for more details.
