Just like in real life, it takes months to cross the Pacific, but if you set your course, your sailboat will continue even if you aren’t online. You can receive email updates about your boat, but you’ll also need to pay attention to the weather. The game pulls real weather updates from NOAA, so watch out for those massive thunderstorms.
