Assassin’s Creed: Origins post-launch content has release dates

In the coming months, Assassin’s Creed: Origins will receive some new expansions, and a discovery mode.

The first DLC expansion, titled The Hidden Ones, will release on January 23rd for $10, or it is included in the season pass. This expansion focuses on the growth of the Brotherhood, and is set four years after the events of Assassin’s Creed: Origins. It will pit the player against an occupying Roman force in a new area: the Sinai. This expansion will raise the level cap to 45, and will introduce new gear for players to find and equip.

In February, Origins will receive a free update to existing users called “Discovery Mode.” This standalone mode for Assassin’s Creed: Origins turns the game into a digital museum. You’ll be able to wander ancient Egypt without worrying about enemies and objectives. You can walk around and visit digital landmarks, and learn about them. This Discovery Mode will also be available as a standalone package for the PC version for $20. So if you don’t own Assassin’s Creed: Origins, but you want to walk around a digital ancient Egypt, this package is for you. The Discovery Mode releases on February 20th.

The second DLC expansion is called The Curse of the Pharaohs, and it releases on March 6th. This new storyline has the player traveling to Thebes to investigate an ancient curse. You will be fighting against famous pharaohs and Egyptian beasts as you investigate why this curse is bringing enemies back to life. This expansion will raise the level cap to 55. The Curse of the Pharaohs will be part of the season pass, or cost $20 for those who don’t own the season pass.

That’s a lot of new content for Assassin’s Creed: Origins. This game is shaping up to be massive.
