Metal Gear Solid has proven over the years to be one of the most beloved game franchises in existence. To commemorate the success of the series, Konami has announced Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection will hit store shelves this June for the PlayStation 3.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Metal Gear Solid franchise, Konami will release a package that includes the following titles: Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid 3: HD edition (which includes the original MSX versions of Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2), Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD edition, Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions, and Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Editions. Phew! In addition to the games, the collection will include two Ashley Wood digital graphic novels. That is a lot of Metal Gear Solid for one package.

Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, said that they wanted to give Metal Gear Solid fans the opportunity to play all the games from the series in one package, and be able to see how “Metal Gear Solid evolved into the critically acclaimed and beloved franchise it is today.” No price has been announced for the collection as of now, but if it is around $50 or $60, that is an excellent deal for all the content in the package. We’ll have more details about the Legacy Collection has it becomes available.
