Sony and Polyphony Digital have announced that the sixth iteration of the popular Gran Turismo series will release this Holiday for PlayStation 3. No word yet if it will come to PlayStation 4, Sony has said that it is only for PlayStation 3 at the moment. Grand Turismo 6 (GT6) will be running on a new game engine to bring “new levels of authenticity” to the racing series.
According to Sony, the cars and tracks from Gran Turismo 5 will return for GT6, but in a new and exciting way. They are adding more cars to bring the car total up to 1,200, and users will be able to customize their cars to a greater extent.
There will be a total of 33 tracks in GT6 with 71 total configurations. Polyphony is adding seven new tracks and 19 new configurations to the game. More tracks and cars will be added with future DLC packs.
