The latest game from iconic developer American McGee wants to retell the tale of Red Riding Hood set in Feudal Japan. Akaneiro: Demon Hunters is that game, and it has been added to Steam Early Access for $9.99.
Purchasing the Early Access version will get you $30 worth of in-game currency and an exclusive Steam Early Access item. Those that buy into the Early Access will help Spicy Horse Games finish the Akaneiro ahead of its full release on Steam. The full game will be free-to-play.
Akaneiro: Demon Hunters first emerged as a Kickstarter game which raised more than $200,000. The game follows Red, who fights demons, wolves, and other mythical monsters. Red will try to become a member of the Order of Akane, which is an elite group of demon hunters inspired by the Red Riding Hood tale. It is being developed by the same team that made Alice: Madness Returns, and will be available on PC, Mac, and Linux.
