To say that Final Fantasy is a popular series would be an understatement, which is evident by the latest news from Square Enix. As of today, one million users have signed up for the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn beta. The MMORPG is set to release for PC and PlayStation 3 on August 27th.
The game is said to be “true to the legendary franchise,” and will feature some new and unique gameplay mechanics. One of those is the “Limit Break,” which first debuted in Final Fantasy VII, and it will feature cross-platform play between PC and PlayStation 3.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be released for $39.99 for PlayStation 3 and $29.99 for PC. Monthly subscriptions will start at $12.99. A special edition of the game will be released for $79.99 for PlayStation 3 and $69.99 for PC. Square Enix is also planning on bringing the MMORPG to PlayStation 4 in 2014.
