EA Sports revealed at E3 2013 that they would be bringing NBA Live back for next-gen consoles, starting with NBA Live 14.
It has been announced that Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving will be the cover athlete for NBA Live 14 when it is released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
“I’m so proud to be the face of this franchise as it makes its much-anticipated return,” Irving said. “I’ve been on the court with the development team and I’ve seen first-hand some of the amazing things EA Sports is doing with NBA Live 14. The fans are going to love it.”
EA Sports has revealed the cover, and released a short teaser with Kyrie Irving that is footage from NBA Live 14 for next-gen consoles. You can see both the cover and video below!
The last NBA game released by EA Sports was NBA Live 10. EA had planned on re-branding the NBA series to NBA Elite, but multiple delays of the game saw it being cancelled. EA Sports’ first NBA game was Lakers versus Celtics and the NBA Playoffs, which was released in 1989. Up until 2010, EA Sports released a new NBA game every year.
