Prison Architect (-34% $19.79) – Another Early Access game on Steam is the main deal of the day. Prison Architect puts you in the shoes of a, well, prison architect. You design the prison, hire workers, guards, and make sure your private prison is ready before bad guys are sent to the clink. It is a great micro-management game that offers hours and hours of entertainment.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II (-66% $3.39) – Although the second KOTOR is not as strong of a title as the first, it still stands out on its own as a great Star Wars RPG. It has a great story like the first, and the same great gameplay. It is only hindered by glitches that did not exist in the first game.
Saints Row The Third (-75% $4.99) – With the fourth game coming out soon, this is a good time to hop into the Saints Row series. While some may compare it to Grand Theft Auto, the only similar thing between these two games is that they are open-world crime games. Saints Row leans more on the ridiculous side, which is always nice.
Omerta: City of Gangsters (-75% $9.99) – This is the newest game from the team that brought you Tropico 3 and Tropico 4. It is set during Prohibition, and you must work your way up the mafia ladder. I was really surprised by this game, and I had a lot of fun with it. Part of the game is expanding your control on the city, and the other part is a turn-based combat similar to that of XCOM.
Under $10
Mirror’s Edge (-50% $9.99) – This DICE game focuses less on gunplay, and more on parkour, all set in a stylized futuristic setting where the government is controlling everything. The second game just got announced at E3, so why not find out what all the fuss is about.
Under $5
Assassins Creed I, II, Brotherhood, Revelations ( $4.99) – This is one of my favorite series out there right now, and all of the games (except for Assassin’s Creed III) are on sale for $5. A great deal for some great games.
