The Last of Us is considered one of the last great games of this generation, and Sony is also calling it the fastest selling game for the PlayStation 3. Sony has said that it has shipped more than 3.4 million units, both hard and digital copies, since the game was released on June 14.
Sony considers games shipped as number of sales, but that is still an impressive number considering the game has been out for less than a month.
Shuhei Yoshida, the president of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios said that the sales figures shows how big of a blockbuster The Last of Us is. He went on to call Naughty Dog “true visionaries, and their storytelling capabilities are second to none.”
