E3 2018: EA Play – Star Wars: Battlefront 2

Today on stage at EA Play a DICE developer talked a little bit aboutĀ Battlefront 2 and their commitment to continuing to add to the game. He mentioned their Han Solo Season content will start up again and feature the return of Extraction, a mode where rebels try to escort and defend cargo as it works its way toward checkpoints. They also announced upcoming new locations, heroes, and villains. Focusing the new content in Star Wars’ Clone War period, it will include General Grievous, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Count Dooku, and Anakin Skywalker. Also mentioned was the planet Geonosis as a new location. There’s no release date yet for the upcoming DLC.

In other Star Wars news, a slightly awkward encounter in the EA Play audience led to announcing the name of an upcoming Star Wars game in development. Vince Zampella of Respawn Entertainment was able to announce the game is called Jedi: Fallen Order and implied this would mean playing as a Jedi in the game. He also mentioned it takes place in a dark period of Star Wars’ history between the movies Star Wars: Episode III and Star Wars: Episode IV, when the Jedi are being hunted. We look forward to hearing more about this game as we get closer to its projected release, holiday 2019.
