About
In the “Good” campaign, players follow the main events of the films, and in the “Evil” campaign players control the forces of darkness in a new storyline.

Rambling:
Just to some it all up really quick, slow pace and horrible controls. That was some review right? Oh, you want to know a little more? Fine.

Gameplay:
1/5 – Singleplayer
You can play as four different people. A warrior, a scout, a mage and an archer plus a special hero. They all play differently, but the only two that are somewhat fun to play are the archer and the mage, but you will learn soon that playing as them gets annoying.

The thing that bothered me right away was the very hard AI. What makes them hard is five of them will run at you and if you don’t kill them before they get to you, they will knock you down and just keep banging on you till your dead.

Your AI team-mates are no help at all! REALLY! They’re just in your way the whole time. They don’t help kill and if your playing as the archer or mage they just stand in front of you so all your shots just hit them in the back most of the time.

For gameplay its very slow and boring, Most of the levels they put you in aren’t any fun to go through. You don’t get that sense of contact when killing baddies that you want. The single player is just not any fun.

Controls don’t respond well. Your clicking the X button to attack and your guy takes an hour before he’s ready to swing and by that time your on the ground getting the snot kicked out of ya.

4/5 – Multiplayer:
The versus multiplayer is surprisingly fun. You choose from one of the four classes, then play capture the ring or capture the spawn points. Capture the spawn points is good fun, there was no lag while playing online which was nice, the only problem I had was the somewhat bad spawn points.

Some how split screen makes everything better, what once was a bad game and had me ready to throw my controller through the tv is now good and lots of fun.

1/5 – Graphics:
Ugly graphics with low textures and bad lighting throughout. There are some neat effects, but nothing that blew me away.

You do get to go to places that were in the movies, but other LOTR games have done it better.

2/5 – Sound:
If your supposed to be heading a certain way and your not going as fast as they want you to be, I don”t need some really bad voice actor to keep telling me the same three lines “over, and over, and over, and over, and over”.(I think you get an idea of it.)

The music from the movies is here which makes the game sound a little better, other then that just really bad yelling and slashing noises.

In the end:
The single player is a waste of time, don’t even rent this game for it, yes multiplayer is better, but its only worth a rent if your going to be playing with a friend. What you should do tho if your looking for a good single player hack and slash is go out and rent/pick up Viking: Battle for Asgard for the PS3 and 360.

8/20:
Try it only if you have a friend to play it with.
