Valve’s Steam Play PSN Features detailed

Today marks a pretty exciting day for me personally. I have always dreamed of a cross platform multiplayer and community experience. Valve had previously revealed that Steam will be incorporated on the PlayStation Network platform but details were scarce.

Valve has dropped a press release explaining what exactly gamers can expect from this new integrated experience for the first time with the release of Portal 2.

With Steam Play on PS3 gamers will be able to access their Steam and PSN friends list as well as earn trophies and Steam achievements at the same time. Also, Portal 2 players will be able to play with gamers on MAC and PC as well as save their multi-and-single player games in the cloud, allowing them to play Portal 2 on PS3 and continue it on PC at a later time.

PS3 owners of the game can unlock a free PC/MAC copy via an included code. What do you have to do to get these features? Simply link your Steam account on the PS3 or create one, this can be done from within the menus of Portal 2.
