Extree! Extree! Read all about it! Valve opening up Portal 2 Authoring Tools Beta today for Portal 2 PC owners.
According to the Portal 2’s official website, these tools are the exact same thing the devs use to create Portal’s puzzles. Now in the hands of the beta public, we too can create single player, and co-op maps. Include in the beta bundle is:
Here’s what’s included:
- Updated version of Hammer, the Source level editor
- Updated Faceposer
- Example maps and instances to help build new maps
- Updated suite of command-line compiling utilities
But, that’s not all! Looks like there is a lot more that these tools can do!
The Portal 2 Authoring Tools include versions of the same tools we used to make Portal 2. They’ll allow you to create your own singleplayer and co-op maps, new character skins, 3D models, sound effects, and music.
