PlayStation Plus saved gamers tons of money in 2011

When PlayStation PLUS, Sony’s subscription service for the PlayStation 3 on PSN, has proven to be a pretty darn good value proposition. PlayStation plus customers could have saved over $1,200 on games this year.

Subscribers received a good amount of games for free, 17 to be exact and also received 132 discounts on PS3 games. That doesn’t seem to shabby if you took advantage of the offers and sales, you certainly made your money back.

Here are some key highlights of what PS Plus members received in 2011:

Number of full game trials: 43
Highlights: Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, Red Dead Redemption

Number of betas: 4
Highlights: UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception, SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs Multiplayer Beta
