Batman: Arkham Origins will grace next Game Informer cover

It has been known for a while that a new Batman Arkham game would be on the way, and it would not be developed by Rocksteady Studios, the team behind the first two games. Game Informer have revealed the cover of their May issue, and it features everyone’s favorite Dark Knight.

The game is titled Batman: Arkham Origins. As suggested by the title, the game is set before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum. It will feature a young Bruce Wayne taking on many super villains for the first time. As seen on the cover, the assassin Deathstroke will feature in the game.

Arkham Origins is being developed by Warner Bros. Games Montreal. The creative director of the game is Eric Holmes. You may recognize that name from other open world titles such as The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and Prototype. It has been confirmed that the studio in Montreal has access to the heavily modified Unreal engine that Rocksteady used for the two previous games. This means we’ll see more open world gameplay, awesome hand-to-hand combat, and incredible graphics.

Batman: Arkham Origins is set to release on October 25 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC.
