Any game that is announced on April Fools Day is always a little bit suspicious, but they usually are not accompanied by a press release. That is why we feel that this announcement is 100% legit. Telltale Games has announced a sequel to one of their first games, Poker Night 2.
This new game will feature a mix of characters from many different sources of entertainment. You play as the fifth poker gambler at a five seat table. The other seats are occupied by: Claptrap, from the Borderlands series; Brock Samson, one of the main characters from the Adult Swim series The Venture Bros.; Sam, the second half of the Sam & Max duo; and Ash Williams, the star of the classic movie Army of Darkness. The dealer is GLaDOS from the Portal games, so witty remarks from her will surely be in the game.
“It’s great to revisit our roots after the success of The Walking Dead. People might not know that we have a strong history of humor in our games and players are going to find a lot of laughs in Poker Night 2,” said Dan Connors, Telltale CEO and co-founder.
Gamers will be able to unlock prizes in Poker Night 2 and use them in other games, like exclusive skins for Borderlands 2, or character accessories for Team Fortress 2. Poker Night 2 will release in digital format only for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC in late April. Check out the first trailer for the game below.
