Video showcases new engine for Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes: Crime and Punishments is in development right now from Frogwares, and they have announced they will be switching engines for the new game. Instead of using their in-house engine, Frogwares is using the Unreal Engine 3.

Frogwares said the reason for the switch is numerous. The game will feature better visuals than previous Sherlock Holmes games, and it will allow for investigations to develop more, something the previous engine did not allow. These include Sherlock guessing details about somebody’s life by looking at them, or re-constructing a crime scene in his mind.

Crime and Punishments will get a full reveal at E3 in June, but for now you can check out a video detailing the new engine, along with a few screenshots.
