Compulsion Games wants to take you back to the 1920’s in their surreal 2D/3D puzzle game titled Contrast. The game will have the player switching between a 3D fantasy world and the 2D shadowscape as you solve puzzles.
The game is set in the 1920’s with vaudevillian inspired art and a film-noir feel to the game. Players take control of Dawn, who is the imaginary friend of Didi. Like any imaginary friend, Dawn does not abide by the rules of the real world. She can blend between the two worlds, and use shadows to move across different parts of the world. Players will be able to interact with objects to change their shadow placement to get an advantage in the game.
Contrast is being published by Focus Interactive, and will be shown off at E3. You can check out the teaser trailer, screenshots, and artwork for Contrast below. Contrast is set to release in 2013 for Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC.
