Redesigned PS Vita coming to Japan October 10

In the very early morning hours today Sony held a pre-TGS event where the company revealed some cool stuff including a new and redesigned PlayStation Vita which comes in new colors as well.

The PCH-2000 series at it is called, is 20 percent thinner and 15 percent lighter than the original mode. Sony also extended the battery life to 6 hours and includes a 1 GB memory card – a new 64 GB memory card was also announced.

The new thin PS Vita will be available on October 10th in Japan, and is priced at 18,980 yen. No North American price or release date was revealed. Engadget went eyes on with the Vita already, check it out here.
