It is Friday, and there is no better way to spend the weekend than playing a new release, or continuing a game that you’ve been playing for a while. Either way, it is time for Weekend Gaming.

New Releases

Grand Theft Auto Online (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) – The highly anticipated online component of Grand Theft Auto 5 was released on Tuesday. Although shoddy servers kept a lot of players from running around Los Santos with their friends, the problems seem to be going away. You can join a crew with your friends, rob a liquor store, and run from the police without going to jail in real life. Sounds good to me.

NBA 2K14 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC) – The popular NBA game from 2K is back for the 2014 edition, and it looks as if 2K has made another great basketball game. With so many features and game modes available, it is easy to lose hours upon hours with NBA 2K14.

FIFA 14 – I wasn’t able to get FIFA 14 when it was released last Tuesday, but this weekend it is time to jump into the latest soccer game from EA Sports. I can’t wait to try out the new shot mechanics, and see what improvements have been made to my beloved Sporting KC. I heard a rumor that all the players may have had the real face treatment done. I hope that is true.

Shadow Warrior – I am getting close to beating this good remake of the classic ’90s shooter. I should have the review up later this weekend.

GTA Online – After being nearly done with GTA V’s single player campaign, and writing our review for that matter, it will now be time to break into the online version of Los Santos. After GTA Online has been plagued by server issues and glitches, I am ready to jump in and have fun with friends.

FIFA 14 – I have started my new Be a Pro Season and quickly was sent on loan to the Russian League where I am kicking butt in the center midfield position. FIFA 14 is a supreme game and even on the current generation of consoles represents a big step forward with the improved physics and gameplay additions. See you on the pitch. We are FIFA 14!
