Today Sony made a bit of a large announcement as they said the slimmer and redesigned PS Vita will be coming to the US in the spring of 2014, yes guys that means in a couple of months. If that wasn’t enough, there will also be a $200 PS Vita Bundle that comes with the Gearbox smash hit Borderlands 2.

The value proposition for PS Vita seems to grow my the month lately. The systems has amassed a large portfolio of games that continues to grow along with PS Plus and recently the future addition of Sony’s game streaming service PlayStation Now which allows gamers to stream games via the internet on their PS4, PS3 and PS Vitas.
The new Wi-Fi model is 20 percent slimmer, 15 percent lighter and features a longer battery life which comes at the cost of the OLED screen which is now an LDC. On the upside, there will be a 1 GB internal memory to accompany the new Vita which is a nice add even though we would have liked more.
The game utilizes the PS Vita system’s unique front touchscreen and rear touchpad feature so you can easily zoom and pan on maps, manage inventory, inspect items, and more. You can shoot and loot through Pandora with up to three of your PS Vita-toting friends via Infrastructure online play, and you can also cross save your progress with your PS3. As an added bonus, Borderlands 2 for PS Vita includes six downloadable content (DLC) packs: Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, Psycho Character Class, Mechromancer Character Class, Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1 and the Collector’s Edition Pack.
One of the best parts of Borderlands 2 for Vita is that it uses cross save which means you can play Borderlands 2 on the bus, save your game and continue playing from the couch on your PS3 later that evening, all with the same save file and keeping your progress.
