Project CARS will be supporting Sony’s Project Morpheus

Today Slightly Mad Studio announced that its upcoming crowdfunded racing simulator Project CARS will be supporting Sony’s recently announced Virtual Reality headset Project Morpheus.

“Virtual reality is a perfect fit for racing games since the game world literally comes rushing towards you from the distance and the increased sense of depth and speed that stereoscopic vision affords you makes this incredibly real and tangible. So when you’re racing you get a much better perception of distances and position and you feel far more enveloped by that world rather than just looking through a window at it”, says Slightly Mad on its website.

Wearing a VR headset alongside a steering wheel should be a perfect fit for a racing game such as Project CARS and we are excited to try it out. Project CARS is set to hit the PS4 along with the Xbox One and PC in November of this year but Morpheus will only be available for the PS4 and we have no release date on it yet as it was just shown off at GDC earlier this month.
