After a successful holiday season in which the Xbox One was the most purchased console in the months of November and December, Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One will be going back to its promotional price of $349.
The competition between Microsoft and Sony is heating up. Sony announced recently that they had sold a total of 18.5 million consoles worldwide. The Xbox One is currently sitting at 11 million consoles sold, and the price drop will surely help close the gap between the two competitors.
Microsoft announced that some retailers may do special bundles, so be on the look out for that. The promotional price takes effect tomorrow, and there is no set end to this promotion. With a rumored smaller Xbox One on the way, I wouldn’t be surprised if the older model stays at $349 permanently.
