This is a game I’ve been looking forward to ever since I learned about it. The Occupation is a investigative journalist immersive sim set in 1980s England.
Okay, let’s unpack that first paragraph. In The Occupation, you play as an investigative journalist in the north west of England in 1987. A terrorist attack has killed dozens of people, and the English government is trying to pass legislation to erode a lot of the population’s civil liberties.
The game plays out in real time, and you have four hours to investigate this attack and the legislation to uncover secrets. The game world reacts to your actions, and you get to decide what story you want to put out in front of the world. It sounds very ambitious, and I can’t wait to check it out.
The Occupation will be available on October 9th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The console releases will have physical versions. Check out the trailer for the game below!
