We knew Activision and TreArch’s Call of Duty Black Ops would sell gangbusters but I think many were a bit surpised when it beat Modern Warfare 2’s sales record for ‘Day One Sales’.
Activision has now reported that Black Ops sold well over half a billion Dollars worth in 5 days. Worldwide Gross Sales have reached 650 Million dollars which beats Modern Warfare 2’s 550 Million last year in the same period.
In addition, according to Microsoft, the game has had logged over 5.9 Million multiplayer hours on its first day on Xbox LIVE and counted 2.6 Million unique users. Both of those statistics are new Xbox LIVE records.
