I love these rumors, I really do. Especially when they revolve around new console hardware.
As if it was a scripted response from Microsoft to combat the Nintendo Wii U hype. Today Videogamer.com ran a story that rumors a new Xbox console being launched in 2012 and revealed at E3 that year.
The reason for the rumor is Crysis developer Crytek. The studio ran some demos behind closed doors at E3 last week talking about TimeSplitters 4 which is being developed for the Xbox follow up.
The rumored console will be running Direct X 11 but specifics have not been nailed down just yet according to the sources.
TimeSplitters 4 will run on CryEngine 3 and currently is only confirmed for the next gen Xbox, however Crytek will be investing into next gen PlayStation development also.
