Believe it or not, Call of Duty is still an expanding and ever growing franchise. For years now we have thought, maybe the IP will slow down. Just maybe people want to get something different out of a shooter.

Today Activision announced that Call of Duty Black Ops 2 has managed to sell a total of 1 Billion Dollars worth of Call of Duty games to consumers according to internal estimates and ‘Chart-Track retail customer sell-through information;.
if you take that number and divide it by 60 bucks you get somewhere in the ballpark of 16 to 17 million copies in just over 2 weeks.
If you want some benchmarks for this number, Modern Warfare 3 took 16 days do do the same last year and 2009’s Avatar took 17 days.
Bobby Kotick is now swimming in a pool filled with even more money.
