Today European game publisher Bigben Interactive has announced that it is partnering with Italian developer Milestone for WRC FIA WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP 4 or WRC 4. Milestone has developed all of the officially licensed WRC rally games, most recently WRC 3, to rather mixed reviews. Simply put, the games haven’t been very good.
The WRC games have been the direct competitor to the superior DiRT series developed by Codemasters.
As for WRC 4, Bigben promises a lot of improvements for the new game which will come to PS3, 360, PS Vita and the PC this October.
Some of the improvements are ‘a new amazing mix of elements with high graphical detail and real in-game sound’ as well as ‘new lighting conditions, new weather effects depending on the stage’ and ‘a brand new Career Mode to put the player into real driver’s shoes. Realism and immersion are two of the most important pillars of the development.’
Well, how is all of this possible you ask? A brand new engine according to Milestone and Bigben.
