Gamers are funny creatures that are often called entitled, biased and whiney – but one thing is for sure we are all pretty opinionated.
With Grand Theft Auto V being out for nearly 2 weeks now, many of you have already completed Rockstar’s latest blockbuster title. The game cost over 200 MM Dollars to make and market while it grossed a Billion Dollars in Revenue within 3 days – those are big numbers no matter how you slice it.
Also, GTA V did also release to massive amount of fanfare and critical success all over the world with a 97 Metacritic score. Without a doubt, GTA V is close to being a masterpiece and my personal favorite game of 2013 already and I am not sure if any other title, even including the next gen offering, will be able to top it despite being a ‘last-gen’ game.
I cannot recall this detailed of a game since GTA IV which boasted a similar level of content and storytelling – GTA V is worlds above the game from 2008 as it now features 3 playable protagonist, a bigger world with more to do and less headaches and old gameplay tropes.
Rockstar is just pretty damn good at creating an entertainment launch – an event – like no other developer out there, this is where I am biased, right?
Well, that is the very question I want to ask you, will there be – in your mind – a game in 2013 that can knock GTA V from your personal Game of the Year throne?
