According to a press release by Activision, Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty Ghosts is leading the charge on the statistics on the Next-Gen front. Ghosts was not only the ‘Most Played Xbox One Multiplayer Game Worldwide’, the ‘Top Selling Xbox One Title at Leading North American Retailers’ but also the ‘#1 Xbox One Standalone Software Title in U.K.’.
In addition to being dominant on the Xbox One, Ghosts also led the charge on the PS4 with being the ‘Most Played PlayStation 4 Game’ and the ‘Top Selling PlayStation 4 Game at Leading North American Retailers’.
While these are really just numbers to gamers that no one wants to care about, it shows that the Call of Duty franchise remains at the top of their game.
“Around the globe, Call of Duty: Ghosts is leading the next generation. It’s the #1 selling title at key retailers and it’s also the most played game on Xbox One and PS4 globally,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, Inc. “As we’ve said before, we’ve got the best community of fans in the world, and we’re thrilled they’re coming with us to the next generation.”
In addition to Activision’s CEO of publishing, Microsoft’s wheighed in on the games’ success on their platform.
